'Dear PM Modi, start working on middle class ka vikas': Twitter's lesson to BJP after bypoll loss

The BJP's dismal performance in bypolls continued on Thursday with the saffron party losing another Lok Sabha seat to a united opposition candidate as RLD's Tabassum Hasan defeated Mriganka Singh in Uttar Pradesh's Kairana. Besides massive jolt in Kairana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also been handed a defeat in Maharashtra's Bhandara-Gondia by the NCP. 

Some good news for the BJP came from Palghar in Maharashtra where it has been successful in retaining the seat. BJP's coalition partner in Bihar, JD(U), lost Jokihat seat to opposition RJD. Full coverage here

The bypolls were held in 4 Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats. Election was also held in Karnataka's RR Nagar where the polling was deferred following allegations of malpractices ahead of the May 12 polls. 

With only months left for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the opposition has got a shot in the arm and has also devised a formula that a united anti-BJP front is the only way to beat the ruling party. 

Even as the final results of Lok Sabha bypolls are yet to be announced, Twitter was abuzz with many hailing the victory of opposition candidates.
