Devendra Arya, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-West Delhi landed him in trouble after a tweet from his personal twitter handle questioning the SC verdict on ban of crackers was posted by him.

The officer in his tweet said that he never thought that he would see such a day where fire crackers would be banned in India.

The officer posted tweeted from his personal handle saying "Dilwai pe bamb/Pataka banane se jail ho sakthi hain, kabhi socha nahi k yeh din aayega. Kya me apna Bharat desh me hi hoon. Jai Sri Ram. Jai Hindi.”

 

Even though the tweet was deleted, the screenshots of it went viral on social media. He later apologised, calling it a momentary inadvertent slip. 

Meanwhile, Delhi police issued a statement saying the tweet got posted from the personal handle of Devender Arya.

 "It was immediately deleted by the officer. Delhi Police has nothing to do with that tweet. We are committed to ensure that direction of Hon'ble Supreme Court on this issue are strictly complied with," said the statement.

The officer soon posted a tweet clarifying his stand where he stated that it was a momentary inadvertent slip on my part and that it does not reflect any opinion/view. The officer apologised for his tweet.
