David Cameron likely to visit India for the fourth time this November

British prime minister David Cameron is likely to visit India for the fourth time since he assumed office in 2010. He could visit India on his way to or back from the G20 summit in Australia, Hindustan Times reported. The summit is scheduled for November 15-16 in Brisbane.

Cameron's last visit to India was in end 2013, and this will be his first visit after Narendra Modi came into power in India.

The last time he visited, his focus was on trade talks with Manmohan Singh, with the Vodafone tax case being an obvious issue that irked the bilateral ties.

Arun Jaitley had cleared the air on retrospective taxation to a great degree in his annual Budget, and the new government has opened number of doors for greater private and foreign investments in the country.

Narendra Modi has also shown his keenness on building ties with other countries, but has focused mainly on the Asian partners for this. David Cameron's visit to India, right after Modi visits United States, could shift thta balance towards the West, even if just for a little while.
