The metropolitan court on Wednesday sent Danish Riaz alias Safi to 12 days police remand after he was produced in the court by sleuths of the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) in connection with the Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts that happened in July 2008. The police sought his remand to find out more about his local connections and know about the people he had sheltered. “We want to know whom did he provide shelter to and what his support systems are,” a source in the DCB told DNA. “We need to know his exact locations in Hyderabad and Ranchi and the people whom he was in contact with,” deputy commissioner of police, DCB, Himanshu Shukla told DNA. He also said that the agency is probing his exact role in the bomb blasts. Danish was produced in the court at around 2 pm on Wednesday. He was arrested on Tuesday by a team of DCB from Vadodara railway station.
