SRINAGAR: An Assistant Commandant of CRPF was on Saturday detained by police here alongwith a girl, officials said.

The official of 143 battalion, posted in Anantnag, was detained this morning alongwith the girl hailing from Chadoora area of Badgam district, Station House officer of the police station M Rashiq said.

He said the officer and the girl were later handed over to Badgam police. It was not clear why they were detained and what are the charges against them.
