A CPI(M) local committee member was killed by suspected Maoists in West Midnapore district, police said today. Around 30-40 armed Maoists went to Dhekia village late last night and dragged Hiki Mura, a CPI(M) local committee member from his house in full view of the villagers, the police said, adding the ultras gunned him down on the outskirts of the village.
