Peroorkkada Sadasivan, CPI-M leader and veteran trade unionist, died here today, party sources said.Sadasivan (82) had been keeping indifferent health for some time.For long, he had served as member of the CPI-M's state committee and Thiruvananthapuram district committee.

He was in the forefront several labour struggles in the south Kerala.In a condolence message, CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said Sadasivan had made significant contributions to the party as well as its trade union wing CITU.

He had played a vital role in organising labourers in different sectors including the loading and unloading workers. His contribution in building the CPI-M as a frontline political force in south Kerala was also great, Vijayan said.
