NEW DELHI: Condemning the Ludhiana cinema hall blast, the CPI(M) on Monday asked the government to gear up intelligence and security agencies to uncover the terrorist outfits and their network in the country besides their links abroad.

Stating that it was 'not sufficient' to track down the culprits after such attacks, the party Politburo stressed that "it is more important to identify and uncover the terrorist groups and networks operating within the country and their links abroad."

It asked the government to gear up the intelligence and security agencies for this task, saying the attack at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah a few days ago and the Ludhiana blast showed that "there is a concerted bid by the terrorist network to wreak violence and havoc around the country."

Six people were killed and 30 others were injured when a blast ripped through a cinema hall in the industrial city last night.

The CPI (M) also conveyed its sympathies to the families of those hit by the blast.
