CPI-(M) statement against attack on NSS offices not earnest: Oommen Chandy
In a statement the opposition leader said the CPI-(M) took three days to denounce the attack on NSS offices, allegedly sponsored by their activists.
Opposition Leader Oommen Chandy today said CPI-(M) was not "earnest" in condemning attacks on Nair Service Society (NSS) offices after the Home department of ruling party "failed" to prevent the attacks. In a statement here, Chandy said the CPI-(M) took three days to denounce the attack on NSS offices, allegedly sponsored by their activists. The Home department was "with the attackers," he alleged in the statement. NSS secretary G Sukumaran Nair's statement against chief minister V S Achuthanandan's alleged `revenge politics' led to these incidents which resulted in the attacks on 'NSS offices across the state in the last three days. "If the CPI-(M) had anything against Nair's statement, they could take it up legally, but they had no right to take law into their hands and act unilaterally against democratic principles," Chandy said.
