Cow welfare body to conduct online exam on 'gau vigyan' on February 25

Rashtriya Kamdhenu Ayog (RKA), which comes under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, will be conducting the exam every year.

Government cow welfare body, Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog (RKA) is organising a national-level voluntary online exam on 'gau vigyan' (cow science) to be held on February 25. RKA Chairman Vallabhbhai Kathiria said this exam will be held annually. 

The exam will be held in 12 regional languages apart from Hindi and English. The purpose of this exam is to get students and general public interested in learning about the indigenous cow and its qualities.

There will be no fee for this examination. Rashtriya Kamdhenu Ayog (RKA), which comes under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, will be conducting the exam every year.

"We are starting 'Kamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar Prasar Examination' at the national level from February 25, 2021. Cow is full of science that needs to be explored. It plays an important role in 5 trillion economies of the country," he said during a press conference.

RKA chairman Vallabhbhai Kathiria said, "For raising mass awareness about the indigenous cows among young students and every other citizens, the RKA decided to conduct a national exam on cow science."

Primary, secondary and college-level students, as well as the general public can appear for the 'Kamdhenu Gau-Vignyan Prachar-Prasar Examination’. There will reportedly be no fee charged for taking the exam. According to the Ministry, the examination will be conducted in a transparent and impartial manner.

The RKA has also reportedly come up with study material on cow science. The questions in the exam will be objective-type, the syllabus will be shared on the RKA website and the results will be declared immediately and certificates granted, reported PTI.

The RKA chief also said that meritorious candidates would be provided prizes and certificates. Kathiria also reportedly shared that universities are interested in setting up a chair and research centres on cows and issues pertaining to them.
