Court to hear Asaram's plea for home food today

Though it’s just a week until Asaram Bapu’s judicial custody comes to an end, the court, on Thursday, will conduct a hearing on an application for providing him with home cooked food. Notably, he underwent medical examination and has been declared completely fit, except geriatric problems.

Sources said no illness was detected other than a deformity in the backbone which causes cervical pain; this, too, is said to be a result of his advanced years.

Interestingly, the medical records which Asaram had submitted mentioned that he is hypertensive and has trigeminal neuralgia, a neuropathic disorder.

However, during the tests conducted on Monday none of these problems were recorded. Asaram’s pulse was normal as was his blood pressure. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, an application was filed in the court by Delhi based social activist Ajay Gautam, who has demanded CBI investigation into the matter. The division bench of the high court heard the application wherein Gautam pleaded the case.
The court has given Gautam two weeks time to prepare the case better for the next hearing.
