Coronavirus Outbreak: India reports 46,254 new cases; tally nears 83.14 lakh

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as many as 46,254 new COVID-19 cases and 514 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours.

With over 46,000 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 count on Wednesday (November 4) crossed the 83 lakh mark.

At 9:30 AM on this day, the COVID-19 tally in the country has reached 83,18,877 cases, which include 5,33,787 active cases; 76,56,478 cured, discharged, or migrated patients, and 1,23,611 deaths.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as many as 46,254 new COVID-19 cases and 514 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours.

Total coronavirus cases in the worst-hit state of Maharashtra have crossed the 16.92-lakh mark.

Maharashtra is followed by Karnataka with 8,32,396 cases. The state crossed Andhra Pradesh to take up second place in the list due to a recent massive surge in the number of cases.

Andhra Pradesh is third on the list with 8,30,731 cases.

After AP comes Tamil Nadu comes, where the COVID-19 figure stands at 7,31,942 cases with 7,01,527 patients recovered, and 11,214 fatalities. Uttar Pradesh has reported 4,87,335 cases of which 4,57,708 have recovered and 7,089 patients are dead.

Delhi has reported 4,03,096 positive cases so far of which 3,60,069 patients have recovered and 6,652 patients have lost their lives due to the virus. In West Bengal, as many as 3,85,589 people have confirmed COVID-19, of which 3,42,133 recovered and 7,013 people succumbed to it.

In Kerala, which reported the country's first COVID-19 case, 4,51,131 people have been detected positive for coronavirus so far.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has informed that 11,29,98,959 samples have been tested up to November 3 for COVID-19. Out of these, over 12 lakh samples were tested yesterday.
