The number of positive coronavirus cases in India reached almost 1,400 on Tuesday evening as the global death toll due to deadly virus crossed 37,000.
While the confirmed cases in India stand at 1,397, the number of deaths recorded is 35, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday evening.
India has imposed a 21-day lockdown till April 14 to combat the spread of novel coronavirus. While initially, only the supplies of essential goods were allowed during the lockdown period, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday said transportation of all goods, without distinction of essential and non-essential, have been allowed.
Worldwide, coronavirus cases continue to rise dramatically, with the number of infections nearing 8 lakh on Monday. The global death toll has crossed 37,000.
The US has the most cases with over 163,000, followed by Italy at 101,739, Spain 87,956 and China at 82,223. Italy has recorded the highest number of deaths with 11,591, followed by Spain's death toll of 7,716, China's 3,308 and US' 3,008.

As of March 31, Pakistan has 1,914 COVID-19 positive cases with 652 in Punjab, 676 in Sindh, 221 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 153 in Balochistan, 148 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 58 in Islamabad and 6 in PoK. 26 people have lost their lives due to Coronavirus.

Delhi: A Doctor of Mohalla Clinic in Babarpur has tested positive for coronavirus. A notice has been put up in the area asking patients who had visited the clinic between 12th to 20th March, should self-quarantine at home for the next 15 days.
