BJP leader and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday dismissed Congress's outburst over a Delhi Police official making inquiries about Rahul Gandhi and said that the main opposition party was trying to make an issue out of a non-issue.

"Why this fuss? I too was given similar questionnaire when I was in opposition and even after coming to power. Congress is trying to make an issue out of a non issue," Naidu said on twitter.com. Congress on Saturday accused the Narendra Modi government of carrying out "political espionage" on its vice president Rahul as it claimed that his staff had caught a Delhi Police official making "unwarranted and weird" enquiries about him.

Declaring that the issue of "snooping and surveillance" on Gandhi would be raised in Parliament, the party demanded a "comprehensive explanation from no less than the Home Minister and the Prime Minister" rejecting the police claim that the episode was merely a security matter.
