Two days after police registered case of rape and assault against khadi and dairy minister Babulal Nagar on her complaint, the victim was taken to the SMS Hospital for medical examination on Thursday.

“The woman was today medically examined by a board of doctors at SMS Hospital,” an official spokesman of the CID crime branch said. The medical processes began at 2.30 pm and concluded in around an hour.

Later, she along with a team of forensic experts and policemen headed by Additional Superintendent of Police (CID, CB) VK Gaur, reached minister Babulal Nagar’s official residence at around 3:30pm.  It was second time in less than 24 hours that the 35-year-old rape victim was taken to the minister’s official residence in Civil Lines.

However, this time the minister was reportedly not present in the house. The police had been severely criticized for gross violation of Supreme Court’s directives while taking the victim to minister’s house in the night and that too when he was present at the home.

The woman accompanied by a relative was taken to a room in minister’s residence for spot verification. The experts from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) examined rooms and took samples from there. The room, which was sealed last night by the CID, was opened this afternoon in the presence of the woman and experts.

The team inspected the room for around four and a half hours for spot verification and the victim’s statement. The forensic team also collected number of samples from the spot.   “We have picked some vital samples and these would tested at the forensic lab,” KN Vashishth one of the experts from the FSL team said in response to media queries.

Asked about the visit of the policemen, Nagar said, “No one asked me any question. I was not interrogated by anyone”.

 The police also refused to confirm it. When asked if the minister was interrogated, Gaur said, “Only higher authorities can divulge information in the case.”
