The police arrested Suresh Parmar, an accused in a money laundering case, who was on the run for the last few months, on Friday. Sources said that Parmar used to harass people after lending them money at exorbitant rate of interest.

"We got a tip-off that Parmar was near Sohrabji Compound and our team went there to arrest him," police inspector, Naranpura police Station, SD Patel told DNA.  Patel said that a crowd soon gathered and attacked the police. They also indulged in rioting, Patel said. "We were forced to order a lathicharge to control the situation. Three rioters were arrested," Patel said.
