NEW DELHI: A drunk Delhi Police Traffic constable tonight tried to sneak into the high security official residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Race Course road, in the second attempted security breach at the place in eight months.

Bhurra Singh, the constable, tried to enter through the outer gate late Thursday night but was stopped by Special Protection Group personnel. When confronted, the constable told the SPG guards that he was going to have his dinner, sources said.

The SPG detained Singh and handed him over to Delhi Police. He was taken to South Avenue Police Post where SPG and Central Security Agencies interrogated him.

This is the second attempt in eight months to breach the security at the Prime Minister's residence after two young women, including an air-hostess from Jaipur, had crossed the first security cordon on July 27, last year, before being stopped.
