The Congress’ silence on the housing and Games scams has given the opposition a chance to sound the battle cry for the next session of Parliament.

The BJP, the JD (U) and the Left demanded a thorough probe into the scams.

It was evident that the BJP and the Left parties would bring up the matter during the winter session of parliament next week. “The country wants a decision. There should be no delay on part of the Congress in accepting Shavan’s resignation,” BJP’s Sushma Swaraj said.

JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav lamented the corruption in the government. “A Raja is involved in the spectrum scam but continues to be a minister. The land [Adarsh] was allotted openly. What is the use of setting up a commission?” he said.
