Suresh is the sitting MP and brother of Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, arch rival of Kumaraswamy, who is contesting the April 17 Lok Sabha polls from Chikkaballapur constituency.

Congress unit of Ramanagara district in a letter to the commission alleged that Kumaraswamy had addressed Suresh as "murderer" and "granite thief" at a JDS workers meet at Ramanagara on March 22.

Calling the act of Kumaraswamy clear violation of model code of conduct, the party requested the Commission to take action against him for it.
