Congress in Jammu on friday observed the 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The party organised a function on the occasion at its headquarter at Shaheedi Chowk, which was presided over by Vice President Pardesh Congress Committee Thakur Hari Singh and attended by other leaders.

"The martyrdom of Indira Gandhi for the cause of nation's unity and integrity will be remembered for generations to come.

"Her glorious achievements like the historic victory in 1971 war and liberation of Bangladesh, green revolution, 21-point programme, nationalisation of banks, Pokhran-I and Garibi Hatao programme will always remind us of her great contribution in the building of modern India," Singh said.
