"I have come to know through media that the Pakistan team is coming. We are fully prepared," he said referring to the Sushma Swaraj's disclosure of Pak's SIT arrival on March 27.
Communication gap between different arms of government once again came to the fore on Friday when union home minister Rajnath Singh admitted getting second hand information that Pakistan joint investigation team (SIT) is coming to India to probe Pathankot terror attack.
"I have come to know through media that the Pakistan team is coming. We are fully prepared," he said referring to the Sushma Swaraj's disclosure of Pak's SIT arrival on March 27.
On being asked whether the Pakistan team will be given access to the strategic airbase, Rajnath again ducked the question saying that modalities will be worked out once they arrive in India.
"Let's wait for Sushmaji to be back," he added.
Though a close aide of Rajnath blamed it on "slip of tongue", it could not stop Congress to use it as an opportunity to take potshots at the Modi government.
Alleging it a "communication gap between South Block and North Block", the Congress expressed "sympathy" with Rajnath Singh.
"What is surprising in it. The biggest communication gap is not between Islamabad and Delhi. The biggest communication gap is between South Block and North Block. There is a hot line between Delhi and Islamabad but there seems no line to be working between North Block and South Block,"said Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.
Taking another dig at BJP, Ramesh said that even when the Naga Accord took place, the then Home Secretary had no idea what was going to happen.
"What can I do. I want to express my sympathies with Rajnath Singh," Ramesh said.
Senior Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have ensured coordination by convening a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security before External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's visit to Pokhara in Nepal for the SAARC Foreign Ministers Meeting.
"There is no coordination in this Cabinet," said Sharma adding that the defence minister, the home minister and his minister of state are also speaking in different voices on the issue.
