Congress conspiring to split my family to weaken me: Jaganmohan Reddy

Continuing his attack on the Congress high command, former MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy today alleged that the party leadership has hatched a conspiracy to split his family.

Addressing a meeting of supporters from his native Pulivendula assembly constituency, he claimed that Congress high command tried to split his family in a bid to weaken him.

Reddy, who quit Congress earlier this month, had alleged in his resignation letter to party president Sonia Gandhi that the high command tried to divide his family by offering a Cabinet berth to his uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy.

Though some family members tried to bring about a rapprochement between Jaganmohan Reddy and his uncle, the efforts failed.

Reddy had earlier announced that he would launch a political party in about 45 days.

The bypolls to be held for the Pulivendula assembly seat and the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, vacated by his mother Vijayalakshmi and himself respectively, are going be a fight between his self-respect slogan and the scheming Congress leadership, he said.

Reddy also said the party to be launched by him would herald a 'golden age' after the next assembly elections in 2014.
