Congress would even send an invitation to terrorists like Hafiz Saeed if it feels they can help them form the government in Gujarat, Nitin Patel was quoted as saying by ANI.

According to reports, Hardik Patel had reportedly met Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders for about 40 minutes at The Ummed Hotel in Ahmedabad on Monday.

However, Patidar leader Dinesh Patel said Rahul Gandhi will meet with Hardik Patel in November, and has not met him as has been reported.

Congress leader Ashok Gehlot categorically denied that any such meeting took place between the two. In a series of Tweets, he had said that he met Hardik Patel and Jignesh Mevani in Ummed Hotel.

Eyeing Patidar votes, the Congress is trying to get support from their leaders to counter the BJP in Gujarat, where they had been in power since 1995.

Earlier, Hardik had turned down the Congress' invitation to fight the Gujarat Assembly election jointly, saying the polls were not a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Congress fight.

Meanwhile, Nikhil Sawani, who resigned from BJP, met Rahul and discussed ways to provide justice to the Patidar community and support for their agitation in Gujarat.
