Accusing the BJP senior leader and party candidate from Vidisha parliamentary seat Sushma Swaraj of making her vote public, the Madhya Pradesh Congress on Saturday asked the Election Commission (EC) to launch criminal proceeding against her and set aside her candidature.

"Swaraj holding the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) has pressed the button in front of the public in a booth at Vidisha on April 23 which amounts to violating the 'model code' of conduct," Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Spokesman Manak Agrawal said in a memorandum to the EC.

"Vote casting is not made public," he added.

Agarwal has incorporated the photographs of Sushma holding the EVM in the memorandum submitted to the EC demanding launching of criminal proceedings against her and setting aside her candidature from Vidisha seat.
