Cold conditions revived in Punjab and Haryana today as mercury fell by a few notches in the state. Amritsar was the coldest place in the two states recording a low of 5.3 degrees Celsius, MET department said here. The minimum in Patiala dropped by two degrees to settle at 7.3 deg C, the low in Ludhiana was 8.4 deg C and in Chandigarh 7.6 deg C. In Haryana, Karnal was the coldest place recording a low of 5.8 deg C, three degrees below normal. Ambala registered a minimum of 7.6 deg C while the low at Hisar settled at 8.8 deg C. Fog and misty conditions prevailed in some parts including Amritsar, Karnal and Rohtak this morning.
