The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet in Delhi court against Congress leader and industrialist​ Naveen Jindal in connection with the alleged irregularities pertaining to the Urtan North Coal Block in Madhya Pradesh.

Taking cognizance of the chargesheet, the court issued summons to Jindal, three individuals and the Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) company, asking then to appear on September 4.

Jindal is also facing trial in a case pertaining to the allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block in Jharkhand. In this case, the CBI had alleged that Koda had favoured Jindal group firms -- Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and Gagan Sponge Iron Pvt Ltd (GSIPL) -- in allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block in Jharkhand.
