Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday assured that the urban development department would provide the required funding to make Lonavala the most favoured tourist spot.

Minister of state for social justice Dilip Kamble, Minister of state for water resources Vijay Shivtare, local MP Shrirang Barne and MLA Sanjay Bhegade, municipal council chairperson Surekha Jadhhav were present.

Speaking at the inaugural of the new building of the Lonavala municipal council, which cost a whopping Rs 32 crore, Fadnavis said that the Lonavala municipal council would never face paucity of funds

He said that multi-level parking, funding for hospital, developing Khandala lake and ropeway will be developed with adequate funding.

Fadnavis asked the officials of municipal council to prepare a detailed plan so that solid waste generated in Lonavala is disposed and treated within a year.
