CBI has arrested eminent producer Shrikant Mohta in connection with Rose Valley chit fund scam from Kolkata on Thursday. According to Zee 24 Ghanta, Mohta was detained after being interrogated for over two and a half hour. Mohta is head of SVF (Shree Venkatesh Films), which produces topline movies in Bengali. Later he was arrested. He will be sent to Bhubaneshwar tonight and will be produced in court.

According to Zee 24 Ghanta, he was initially questioned in SVF office at Kasba in South Kolkata. After that he was detained and taken to CGO complex. According to CBI sources, Shrikant Mohta had huge financial transactions with Saradha group head Sudipto Sen and Rose Valley chief Gautam Kundu. During probe, CBI got to know about the monetary exchange and they wanted to question Shrikant Mohta to know the details regarding it. 

According to sources, Shrikant Mohta was earlier sent notice to reply in questions regarding Saradha scam. He as repeatedly summoned by only once did he made himself available for questioning. 

For this reason, CBI officers today decided to go to the SVF office to question the famous producer. He was questioned in presence of police officers. 

According to sources, CBI officers found many discrepancies in his answers. Also for many questions, Mohta couldn't give any cogent answer. He also couldn't show documents regarding economic dealings. Hence finally decision was taken to bring him to CGO complex in Salt Lake for detailed questioning. He was subsequently arrested there.
