HYDERABAD: Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's daughter Srija, who sought police protection from the Delhi High Court apprehending threat from her family, said there was no specific threat to her life from her father in wake of her love marriage against the family's wishes.

"There is no threat to our life from any one in particular. There have been no threatening calls after marriage. We filed the petition fearing that we might be kidnapped," she told a Telugu news channel over phone from Delhi.

She said she has full respect for her parents and hoped that they would bless her on her return to Hyderabad after obtaining police protection.

Srija (19), a student of Chartered Accountancy, said she had informed her father a year ago about her love for Sirish Bharadwaj (22) but the proposal was rejected.

"I had to take this decision because my family did not endorse my choice," she said.

She expressed happiness over her uncle Pavan Kalyan's statement earlier in the day that she faced no threat from the family and that she was welcome home anytime.

The teenager said she would soon return to Hyderabad and stay at her in-law's place.
