Colonel Rajesh Kalia, defence spokesman at Srinagar, said a ceremonial Border Personnel meeting (BPM) was conducted on the occasion of the 69th Republic Day of India at Indian BPM hut in Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) and Chushul area.

"Delegations at both the places interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment. The delegations parted amid feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC," said Colonel Kalia.

The meeting comes against the backdrop of diplomatic tensions between the two countries over Doklam issue. Earlier China had blocked India's move to ban Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar at the United Nations.
