MADURAI: In pre-poll violence in Tamil Nadu, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son Karthik Chidambaram was allegedly attacked by AIADMK workers who charged him with distributing money to voters near his home town Karaikudi, about 55 km from here, ahead of tomorrow's assembly election.

The attack led to a clash between DPA and AIADMK workers, triggering tension in the area, police said.

Protesting the alleged distribution of money, AIADMK workers attacked Karthik Chidambaram who sustained minor injuries.

Trading charges, workers of DPA and AIADMK clashed, police said adding the warring groups dispersed after their intervention.  Cases had been registered against both the groups, police said.
