Jogi had last week hinted that he might float a new party, saying that he had no other option but to quit the Congress for the sake of Chhattisgarh. He had said the Congress party was presently working like 'Team-B' for incumbent Raman Singh-led government. Jogi had told ANI he is under a lot of pressure to revive the state as the present state government is not letting Chhattisgarh develop.  "I have been meeting a lot of people. As of now, I have personally met at least thousand supporters and they all have mounted pressure on me saying if we want to free Chhattisgarh from the rule of Raman Singh then I have to quit Congress, which is acting as the 'B-Team' for Raman Singh or otherwise he might win for the fourth time too," said Jogi.

The Congress, however, remained indifferent towards Jogi's move and said that the former had sold party's candidate Mandu Pawar to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and it is for the good of the grand old party that such inmates quit.

Singh earlier told ANI, "Ajit Jogi had sold the Congress candidate Mandu Pawar to the BJP. So it's good for the Congress that such people are leaving the party."
