Chhattisgarh: 5 Naxal killed, 2 Jawans injured in encounter

An encounter between the Naxals and the District Reserve Guard(DRG) on Saturday claimed the lives of 2 Jawans and 5 Naxals in Narayanpur,  Chhattisgarh.

Based on the intel gathered, DRG went on a lookout for the Naxals on Friday.

"The encounter which claimed the lives of 5 Naxals happened at around 7 am in the morning", DIG Naxal P Sundararaj confirmed.

Injured security personnel were being evacuated from the encounter site to shift them to a nearest medical facility.

The gunbattle is currently underway.
