The incident took place on Sunday in Raipur’s BR Ambedkar Hospital.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has ordered a probe into the incident. “No one responsible for this incident will be spared,” the Chief Minister said.

"Yesterday there was a drop in oxygen pressure, there was no cut in oxygen supply," said R Prasanna, Director of Health Services.

Prasanna also said that the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent immediately intervened and sorted the issue. "Death of children are due to illness, information will be shared shortly," he added.

The incident comes days after the death of over 72 children in state-run hospital in Gorakhpur, apparently due to encephalitis.

Amid demand for action against ministers for Gorakhpur tragedy, an inquiry report has blamed the absence of doctors and the supplier for oxygen shortage at Baba Raghav Das (BRD) hospital.
