Weaving looms, used for making the famous Karaikudi or Chettinad saris, were floating in water and production has taken a hit following rains and water entering the weavers' colonies, officials said today.It would take several days for the water to recede and weaving to resume, they said.Sivaganga district handloom weavers association secretary urged the state and central government to help units which were already sick.
