Delhi Police will probe who sent the forged letter ordering closure of JNU's Centre for the Study of Discrimination and Exclusion, a senior police officer said.

After the letter surfaced, the University Grants Commission conducted an internal inquiry and it was found that the letter has forged signature and was faxed from somewhere in Mumbai, he said.

However, the Commission doesn't have any centre in Mumbai. It is being probed from which number the letter was faxed, said the officer.
