BJP MP Sunil Kumar Singh trounced Congress candidate Manoj Kumar Yadav by a margin of 3,77,871 votes to retain Chatra seat.

INC Manoj Kumar Yadav 150,206 Votes 16% Votes

RJD Subhash Prasad Yadav 83,425 Votes 9% Votes

CPI Arjun Kumar 22,577 Votes 2% Votes

BSP Nageshwar Ganjhu 18,888 Votes 2% Votes

IND Nandlal Prasad 15,859 Votes 2% Votes

IND Jaidula Ansari 13,090 Votes 1% Votes

Chatra Lok Sabha constituency profile

Parliamentary polls in Chatra were held on April 29, in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. BJP's Sunil Singh, Congress' Manoj Kumar Yadav and RJD's Subhash Yadav were the key candidates in the fray in 2019. In the fourth phase, the election was held in 71 constituencies across 8 states.

Chatra constituency consists of six assembly segments — Chatra, Simaria, Latehar, Panki, Palamu and Manika. Leaving Panki, the remaining 5 constituencies have been reserved for the members representing the Scheduled Castes community.  

BJP's Sunil Singh was the sitting MP who defeated Congress' Dhiraj Sahu by a margin of more than 1.78 lakh votes in 2014.

Lok Sabha polls 5th phase, May 06: Kodarma, Ranchi, Khunti, Hazaribagh

Lok Sabha polls 6th phase, May 12: Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Singhbhum

Lok Sabha polls 7th phase, May 19: Rajmahal, Dumka, Godda

BJP and Congress are the two major parties who will be up in key contest in most of the seats in the state. Lok Sabha election 2019 were held in 7 phases.
