In a bid to help Uttarakhand combat the menace of the dreaded swine flu ahead of Kumbh scheduled to be held early next year, a central team would soon visit Haridwar and Rishikesh.

The central team is coming here after a letter by state health authorities, in which they sought help regarding preparations for setting up sample collection centres and isolation wards in Mahakumbh area in view of swine flu menace, as nearly 5 to 6 crore pilgrims are expected to attend it, Dr Pankaj Jain, the nodal officer for the disease said.

The team from the Centre would comprise doctors from AIIMS New Delhi and PGI Chandigarh, he said.

A total of four people died of swine flu, while 79 cases have so far been confirmed for the disease in Uttarakhand.
