The Centre has taken serious note of reported killing of four dolphins in the Ganga and directed the Bihar government to take steps to protect the endangered species from poachers.    Chairman of the Working Group on Dolphin Conservation Dr RK Sinha said today that the Union environment ministry had sought details about the killing of dolphins near Khajekalan police station in the state capital on Thursday.    "The ministry has also sought an action plan for the protection of the national acquatic mammal," he said.    Earlier, one was found dead in Bhagalpur a few weeks ago and another was found dead near Gandhi Ghat here a few months ago.    The state forest and environment department has decided to intensify patrols in areas with high dolphin population, official sources said.
