Pakistan army once again violated the ceasefire on Friday. They opened heavy fire on the Indian forward positions and civilian areas along the Line of Control leaving one person injured in district Rajouri district in Jammu division.

The incident occurred in the evening when Pakistan army resorted to heavy firing in Jhangar and Chhoti Makki village in Nowhsera sector

"Ceasefire violation in Jhangar Nowhsera. One person injured in ceasefire violation Village Chhoti Makri, Nowshera", tweeted Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, District Development Commissioner,  Rajouri. 

More than 13 people have been killed in the Pakistani shelling on Line of Control (LoC) and International border (IB) since Jan 17. More than 50 people have suffered injuries and 50,000 people have fled their homes in Jammu division.

Schools and educational institutions in the five kilometre range of International Border and LoC have been shut as a precautionary measure.

The fresh ceasefire violation comes a day after BSF and Pakistan Rangers held a meeting on the International border at Suchetgarh area of Jammu district. BSF had warned the Rangers of strong retaliation if they violate ceasefire.
