NEW DELHI: CBI on Monday approached the Delhi High Court seeking cancellation of former UP Chief Secretary Akhand Pratap Singh's bail in a disproportionate assets case.
Additional Solicitor General P C Malhotra, appearing for the agency, mentioned the matter before a bench comprising Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Khanna.
Malhotra pleaded before the court that the case should be heard by the court as the judgement by the trial court granting bail to the former bureaucrat has not been supplied to the agency.
According to the corruption case registered against Singh in 2005, he acquired as many as 84 immovable properties in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand worth Rs 200 crore.
He is also accused of forging the signatures of his dead father and a friend for transferring the properties and routing financial transactions through several fictitious bank accounts.
