94-year-old eminent cartoonist RK Laxman was admitted to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune on Saturday, after his health deteriorated drastically. Laxman was suffering from a urinary infection and eventually had a multi-organ failure, informed doctors at the hospital. The doctors said that he was on ventilator support and unconscious.

Laxman was suffering from kidney problems and infection of the lungs. He had undergone dialysis treatment on Saturday as his kidneys had failed.
