Cambridge English advanced exam launched for students going abroad
Cambridge English Advanced exam will break the monopoly of International English Language Testing System and the scores will also be accepted by Australian government.
To break the monopoly of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for getting student visas, Cambridge English Advanced exam (CAE) has been launched which will be recognised by the Australian government.
Earlier, IELTS was the only mandatory exam for students who aspired to study further in Australia and other countries. But with the launch of CAE, students will now have the option to appear for either exam.
Addressing the media, chief executive officer of Planet EDU, Sanjay Malaviya explained CAE’s advantages. “CAE is beneficial to students in many ways. In IELTS, the validity of the result is two years, whereas in CAE the validity is for lifetime. In addition, CAE can be given via a paper-based test or a computer-based one, where the scoring will be done on the scale of 100 and is mapped with the scores of IELTS. Mapping of the scores and the test has been done in a way that a student’s IELTS and another student’s CAE result can be comparable. CAE is an alternative for tests like IELTS, TOEFL or PTE.”
He further explained about the fees and said that the CAE test requires a payment of Rs3900 only once, unlike in IELTS, where a student is required to pay Rs7600 every time the test is taken.
