A buoyant Madhya Pradesh unit of the BJP has written to Governor Anandiben Patel demanding a special session of state Assembly to seek a floor test. "I am writing a letter to the governor to convene a special session of the Assembly. We want a discussion on important issues like farm loan waiver, and we will test the government strength," said Gopal Bhargava, leader of Opposition in MP Assembly.

Congress government under Kamal Nath is holding on to power by a wafer-thin majority. It had emerged the single largest party with 114 seats in the 230-member Assembly, just five more than BJP's 109. But it had to take help from two BSP MLAs, one from SP and four Independents.

BJP sources have now said a few of the Independents and the BSP MLAs are not happy with the Congress government and may not back it during a trust vote.
