Mehboob Baig alias Senior, one of the accused in the Kalupur building collapse case has moved the sessions court for bail stating that he has no role to play in the case and has never been associated with construction business. He also said that he has been falsely implicated by the police.
Senior and Bata were arrested on February 1 in the building collapse case at Saudagar Ni Pol in Kalupur by the detection of crime branch (DCB). The police alleged that he was a partner in the building project. The building had collapsed and the incident left five dead.
Senior, who is in judicial custody, has in his bail plea stated that he has been falsely implicated in the case and was never associated with the construction business. Moreover, he further stated that he was not a partner in the project.
The sessions court has asked the police to file affidavit regarding the same on or before February 23.
