Soon after Pakistan Rangers sniped at head Constable RP Hazra,  BSF troopers consolidated their positions and started precision targeted fire on Pakistani mortar locations.

"Two Pakistan mortar positions were located, targeted and destroyed by BSF troopers Wednesday night. The coordinated precision fire of BSF troopers silenced Pakistan guns",  said a BSF spokesman at Jammu  Frontier.

The spokesman said BSF is maintaining extra vigil on Jammu IB to negate all sorts of intrusion attempts by miscreants which are aided by forces on other side of IB.

"Firing across IB is most of the time diversionary tactics for facilitating intrusion",  he said.

On Thursday morning, despite dense fog in the RS Pura area troopers detected an intrusion attempt around 5:45. "The intruder was neutralized around 7 AM. Complete area is cordoned off. Search will commence after fog gets clear",  he said.
