BRTS: Other buses likely to ply along with ibuses

Besides the ibus, AICTSL may also run other buses on BRTS corridor. The move is probably the result of the High Court's reaction to the fact that only 16 buses are plying on the corridor.

This was hinted by collector Akash Tripathi in the board meeting of Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL) on Saturday. Mayor Krishna Murari Moghe, divisional commissioner Sanjya Dubey and other officers were present in the meeting.

It was resolved in the meeting to identify new routes to extend the services of BRTS. For other model buses on the corridor, the buses will be procured on lease by the company.

AICTSL will try to increase the buses to maximum possible numbers for the convenience of people. The buses should be 35-seater with enough leg space for passengers. The company should float tenders for the purpose soon.

It was decided in the meeting that AICTSL should provide bus service in the new areas merged with Indore city. The routes should be decided and mini buses should be operated on these routes.  The service will be extended to all 29 villages recently included in the limits of IMC.

AICTSL will start Volvo bus service between Indore-Ahmedabad and Indore-Shirdi. The tender process has been completed. The board has approved names of the operators for the route.

AICTSL has received tenders at higher rates for establishing ATMs at ibus stops. State Bank of India will operate the ATMs.

Dubey instructed to deploy security personnel at the ATMs.

The officers also discussed upon the possibility of installing vending machines for coffee etc at the bus stops. 

IMC Commissioner Rakesh Singh, CEO of IDA Deepak Singh, CEO of AICTSL Sandeep Soni and other concered officers were present in the meeting.
