The anonymous person called at the reception and said, "“I have an AK-47 and I will kill everyone”.

After the threat call, the school reported the incident to the police around 1pm after which a security drill was conducted to secure the safety of students. The institution was then cleared although the police said that the call appeared to be a hoax. A police official said that they were trying to identify the caller.

Chanakyapuri is a high-security area and has several diplomatic missions including one of France, Russia and United States.

Addressing the parents, the school in a statement said, "Dear parents, the school was under lockdown for the last 1 hour. The police  has  given an ‘ALL CLEAR’ and all students and staff are safe. Students have been released in a controlled manner, year wise. After school activities are cancelled. Buses will be delayed by 10-15 mins."
