Eight-year-old Ajay Sonkar had gone to attend night-long prayers at a temple in his locality on Saturday night and fell asleep under a quilt in the corner of the temple.
On Sunday, some employees of the temple collected all the quilts of the temple and kept them over the quilt covering the boy, without realising that somebody was sleeping under it.
When the boy did not reach home, his mother came to the temple looking for him.
Meanwhile, the employees of the tent house, which provided the quilts, came to take back their items and found the boy dead.
Later the body of Ajay was handed over to his aggrieved family members without postmortem after they requested the District Magistrate for the same.
