A bomb exploded in a school in lower Assam's Barpeta district last night causing damage to the vacant building.
 
Police sources said the bomb exploded next to the headmaster's office room of Gorola High School at Bordoloni village, under Mondia police station at around 9.30 pm, the sources said.
 
The headmaster's office room was damaged with its furniture and other property burnt and broken by the blast.
 
No person was injured since the day was a Sunday and the school was closed besides the blast taking place during night hours.
 
A small crater was formed at the spot.
